March News
Welcome to this month's edition of the Darius Turner Photography
newsletter. March has been a very busy month, and has seen the
introduction of new framing options, a postcard and greeting card range
and a weekly market stall at Chatswood. Once again I have to thank
everyone who has continued to be so supportive as I continue on my mission
to share the photographs I have taken with as many people as possible.
Chatswood Markets on Thursdays
On the 15th March I was able to exhibit my framed prints to the public at
the Chatswood 'Melody Markets'. The markets are held weekly and take place
in Chatswood Mall, next to Westfield Chatswood. The markets begin at 11am
and stay open until 9pm at night. I will have a stall there weekly, and
there are a Iot of other great stalls to have a look at. I had a fantastic
response from the public, and was thrilled to make several sales and meet
lots of people who share a passion for photography and images of the
Australian Landscape. Many people remarked that they would like to travel
to the places in the photographs, and this is something I highly
recommend! There are so many amazing natural places in Australia, and I
hope to explore many more in the near future. If you are ever in the
Chatswood area on a Thursday please drop by and say hello, I would love to
see you there.
Exciting New Products and Framing Options
In preparation for the markets I have developed a new range of products
and framing options. These include Mat boards which come ready to frame
and cost only $20. There are now a variety of frames you can choose to go
with your limited edition print, with prices ranging from $75 for a 20
inch print in metallic frame, to $295 for a 30 inch print framed in top of
the line Australian timber and mounted with a custom fit Mat. Take a look
in the Shop for more information.
Queen Mary 2 Visits Sydney
I was among the massive crowds that welcomed the Queen Mary 2 to Sydney. I
couldn't believe the size of this humongous ship, and as the Queen Mary 2
sailed out the heads towards Queensland I felt that I had just witnessed
something really special. A friend of mine and I positioned ourselves in a
little laneway at Vaucluse, and were able to photograph the Queen Mary 2
as she left our shores, the Harbour Bridge watching silently in the
background and some local pelicans swimming non-chalantly nearby set quite
a scene.

From ABC.net.au 20/2/07: "The Queen Mary 2 charmed the city from around 6
am this morning. A flotilla of close to 1000 pleasure craft, water taxis,
ferries, restored boats and even kayaks set out to welcome the ship, and
to get a closer view of one of the world's biggest passenger liners.
"The last time the two Cunard Queens - the Queen Mary and the Queen
Elizabeth - were together off Sydney was during World War II when the
original ships were here as troop carriers."
