Gaunt Country, Uralla

Driving along the New England Highway on my way North I spotted this paddock that really caught my eye. The dead and dying tree stumps really looked like they were trying to tell a story, and combined with the overcast sky just begged to be photographed. I jumped the neglected barbed wire fence and wandered in to the paddock to start taking photographs. Little did I know that this was also home to the biggest blow flys in the world and not only did they buzz around you they also stung, and hard! A really unforgiving environment, but also such a striking landscape.
